Ethical dilemma:
Wonderful Tamil Sri Lankan family owned business right across the street from the AI office. Really nice people, good selection of hard to find Sri Lankan food and spices, and cheap heat-and-eat veggie food perfect for lunch.
The challenge - a picture of
Prabakharan on the wall - in military garb, the knowledge that most of the
LTTE's funding comes from foreign remittances, and some first-hand information that the call for donations has recently gone out to the community, suggesting a rearmament period.
If I wouldn't buy from there, would I buy from a store in Sri Lanka that had a picture of
Rajapaksa on the wall? Is it better to wear the military garb, or to wear feigned Buddhist virtue as a cover for a self-righteous militant approach?
Thoughts?
